Gladys McCormick, associate professor of history in the Maxwell School, was interviewed by the Associated Press for the article “Mexican president’s US visit cordial, lacking in substance.” Professor McCormick, who also serves as the Jay and Debe Moskowitz Endowed Chair in Mexico-U.S. Relations, says that President Donald Trump and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador needed this trip distract attention from the coronavirus and “from what’s going on with the economy and from the security crisis in Mexico.”
