Nina Kohn, who serves as the David M. Levy professor of law and the associate dean for online education at Syracuse University College of Law, was interviewed by PIX11 TV (NY) for the article and news segment “NY nursing homes with COVID-19 deaths have liability shield.” Kohn, an expert on elder law and civil rights of older persons with cognitive disabilities, says that “there’s really no state in the nation that’s granted nursing homes and their owners such broad protection.” Ultimately, Professor Kohn believes the ruling by the New York State legislature is “dangerous for workers; [and] it’s dangerous for residents.”
