Are You Graduating in 2020? Here Are the Commencement Deadlines

Syracuse University’s 2020 Commencement exercises will be held on Sunday, May 10, on the Shaw Quadrangle.

In order to participate in Commencement, you must complete the following tasks:

File for a Diploma
All degree candidates who plan to complete requirements by August 2020 and will participate in the May 2020 Commencement exercises must file on MySlice by March 1.

Register for Commencement
Commencement registration is now open, and the registration deadline is April 15. All degree candidates must create a participant profile and RSVP for their home college Convocation and the Commencement ceremony. Please be aware that all candidates registering to attend Commencement and/or Convocation must indicate the number of guests attending their respective ceremonies. Updates to the profile can be made after registration.

Order Your Cap and Gown
All candidates who are eligible to participate in Commencement or Convocations must pre-order a cap, gown and tassel from the Bookstore. Cap and gown orders can be submitted now, and must be submitted by March 27.

Mark Your Calendars

Wednesday, March 25
A Graduation Fair will be held at the University Bookstore from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature representatives from the Office of the Registrar and the Senior Class Giving Campaign, as well as information about yearbooks, graduation announcements, diploma frames, class rings, and caps and gowns.
Monday, May 4
Cap and gown distribution begins.
Thursday, May 7- Saturday, May 9
School and college Convocations, various times and locations (online registration required; no tickets needed)
Sunday, May 10
Commencement, 9:30 a.m. to noon (online registration required; no tickets needed)
