A Public Message of Support

Friday, November 22, 2019, By News Staff
Share

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students:

On Wednesday, the Department of Public Safety issued a statement concerning the investigation of hate speech targeted at one of our faculty members, Genevieve García de Müeller. We have offered our solidarity and support to her privately. Like Dean Ruhlandt, we also again reaffirm our commitment to do everything in our capacity to ensure the safety, health and well-being of all our faculty, students and staff.

We again reaffirm our commitment to not only our students, but also all our faculty and staff who are targeted and affected by acts of hate. Our entire community must benefit from the increased measures that we, as a university, have promised, to make this a welcoming place where no one is subjected to hatred and fear because of who they are.

We ask that you join us and our colleagues as we support Professor Genevieve García de Müeller.

Sincerely,

syverud
Kent Syverud
Chancellor and President

Vice Chancellor and Provost
