Matt Hart and Jules Gibbs
Point of Contact Gallery is hosting a Halloween Poetry with Matt Hart and Jules Gibbs on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Free parking will be available in the Syracuse University lot on the corner of West and West Fayette streets.
Hart is the author of seven books of poems, including most recently “Radiant Action,” “Radiant Companion” and “Everything Breaking/For Good,” published this fall by YesYes Books. Hart’s poems, reviews and essays have appeared or are forthcoming in The Academy of American Poets online, Big Bell, Gulf Coast, Harvard Review, Jam Tarts Magazine, jubilat, Kenyon Review online, Lungfull! and POETRY, among others. In 2001, Hart earned an M.F.A. in poetry from the Warren Wilson M.F.A. Program for Writers.
Gibbs is the author of the full-length poetry collections “Snakes & Babies” (forthcoming, 2020) and “Bliss Crisis” (2012), both published by the Sheep Meadow Press, as well as chapbooks from Dancing Girl Press, “The Bulk of the Mailable Universe” (2011) and “Songuary” (2019). She serves as the poetry editor for the national political magazine, The Progressive, as well as for Corresponding Voices, a bilingual magazine of cross-cultural and intersectional poetics based at Syracuse University, where she also curates the Cruel April reading series. Gibbs teaches literature and creative writing at Syracuse University.
