Crosswalk Work on University Place Begins Tuesday
Facilities Services and the project contractor will be replacing pavers in the crosswalk located on University Place, immediately west of the Comstock Avenue intersection. The work, which will improve pedestrian safety, will be completed one lane at a time and is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 13, and Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Buses will not be allowed on University Place or College Place during this time but smaller vehicles can still travel on University Place to Comstock Avenue. During these two days, Centro and Syracuse University buses will have temporary stops on Comstock Avenue, north of the Euclid Avenue intersection. Southbound and northbound buses that normally stop on College Place will have temporary stops on Comstock Avenue.
Delays in the proposed work may occur as a result of weather, unforeseen circumstances and/or for safety reasons. In the event that there is a significant delay, Facilities Services will issue revised information as soon as possible. For everyone’s safety, you are encouraged to remain alert in work areas, watch for route changes, heed construction flagger directions/employees at work and follow pedestrian signs.
