University Events Calendar Training to Be Held Aug. 13

A training session on the Syracuse University online campus events calendar will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. in 120 Crouse-Hinds Hall. The session is open to all members of the University community, but may be of particular interest to individuals who have been designated or would like to be designated the individual responsible for entering and moderating calendar entries for their individual school, college or program (known as super-users).

Any faculty, staff or student with a NetID can submit an event to the calendar.

The University launched the new online calendar in May. Developed by web architects and developers in the Division of Marketing and Communications, the calendar is easily accessible, user friendly and brings together a vast array of events that are open to all members of the campus community.

Jake Falge, digital content coordinator in the Division of Marketing and Communications, will lead the training session. The focus will be on how to use the calendar, including basic operations (logging in, dashboard); how to enter, edit and approve events; how to request that your event be featured; editorial standards and what is to come in the future (groups, bulk upload).

The website, calendar.syracuse.edu/events, features a chronological listing of events and a spotlight section, with contributions from schools and colleges and administrative units and programs across campus.
