Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
I write to you again following the senseless loss of life from shootings in public places, this time in California, Texas and Ohio. On behalf of our entire Orange community, I extend deepest sympathies to all impacted by the trauma, injuries and deaths.
While law enforcement agencies continue their respective investigations and family and friends mourn lives taken from them far too soon, I recognize the pain and fear these horrific events can have on many of us, particularly those from targeted communities. In this time of great sorrow, I remind our students, faculty and staff of the many available resources and services, including the following:
• Students seeking counseling services may contact the Counseling Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 315.433.4715. Additional services are provided by the Office of Student Assistance, Monday through Friday, by calling 315.443.4357.
• For faculty and staff, assistance is available through Carebridge, the University’s Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Trained clinicians are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be reached at 800.437.0911.
• For additional support and services, the campus community may contact Hendricks Chapel at 315.443.2901.
