Forestry Drive is closed beginning today until Friday, Aug. 9, as part of the Stadium project. Facilities Services and the project contractor are currently in the process of assembling a large crane at the west end of the Dome, adjacent to Irving Avenue. This crane will be used for steel erection on the roof replacement project. A portion of the crane must be assembled on the ground, which requires the road closure.
During the road closure, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and emergency vehicles will detour through the SUNY-ESF campus. Syracuse University employees, deliveries and contractors should use an alternate route (e.g. Waverly Avenue) to minimize additional traffic on the SUNY-ESF campus.
For everyone’s safety, you are encouraged to remain alert in work areas, watch for route changes, heed construction flagger directions/employees at work and follow pedestrian signs.
Delays in the proposed work may occur as a result of weather, unforeseen circumstances and/or for safety reasons. In the event that there is a significant delay, Facilities Services will issue revised information as soon as possible.
