Due to city roadwork today in the University area, crews will close a section of University Place from Comstock Avenue to Ostrom Avenue to vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
This section of University Place will remain accessible for vehicles from Ostrom Avenue. The work will only impact the intersection at Comstock Avenue and University Place. Buses and vehicles will still be able to turn to and from University Place on the campus side of the intersection.
The work will primarily impact deliveries to the DellPlain Hall loading dock, and drivers that may use University Place to travel to and from the Ostrom lot.
The work is being done as part of a City of Syracuse street project along Comstock and Waverly avenues that will improve access to campus. A contractor hired by the city is making repairs to sidewalks and accessible ramps and creating new bike lanes. The work is scheduled to conclude on July 31.
