Hendricks Chapel, Muslim Chaplaincy, Muslim Student Association Invite Community to Vigil

Hendricks Chapel will host a Universitywide candlelight vigil on Tuesday, March 19, to honor lives lost in the terrorist attack at two mosques last week in Christchurch, New Zealand. The vigil will begin at 6 p.m. on the steps of Hendricks Chapel.

The dean, chaplains and staff of Hendricks Chapel, and the Muslim Student Association invite the campus community to join in this vigil to honor the lives lost, pray for peace and be together as a community.

With respect to those in our community who may be affected by the attack, the University reminds students, faculty and staff of resources and services available, including:

  • Students seeking counseling services can contact the Counseling Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 315.443.4715. Additional services are provided by the Office of Student Assistance, Monday through Friday, by calling 315.443.4357.
  • For faculty and staff, assistance is available through Carebridge, the University’s Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Trained clinicians are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be reached at 800.437.0911.
