Faculty and Staff Invited to Enter One University Assessment Poster Session on April 5

Programs and units across campus have been engaging in assessment activities to support student learning and enhance campus operations. After spending time on campus last spring, the Middle States accreditation site visit team commended the University’s efforts. The result was impressive across the board, and therefore, faculty and staff from all programs and units are invited to present their collection of work and share their stories at the One University Assessment Poster Session on April 5 from 1-3 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, 114 Bird Library.

“Assessment is a vital component of the campus community’s effort to enhance student learning and improve our services,” says Chris Johnson, associate provost for academic affairs. “I am excited that the One University Assessment Poster Session will highlight the impact and innovation taking place at Syracuse University, and I encourage faculty and staff to consider sharing their stories by submitting a poster.”

Interested faculty and staff can register, create and celebrate their work by following the steps below:

1. Register

Faculty and staff members can register individually or with a team by Friday, March 15, on the One University Poster session registration form.

2. Create Poster

The Assessment Working Team has created poster templates to help get folks started.

3. Attend the Event

The One University Assessment Poster Session is on April 5 from 1-3 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, 114 Bird Library. Presenters are invited to enjoy lunch, as well as set up and review posters from noon-1 p.m. From 1-3 p.m., the campus community is invited to view the posters.

Awards for posters will be given out in the following categories: People’s Choice Award, Best Use of Results, Best Faculty/Staff Engagement Strategies and Best Poster Design.

Questions regarding the event or accommodations requests can be sent to the Assessment Working Team at assessment@syr.edu.
