New Digital Platform Launches to Assist Students with Off-Campus Housing Search

The off-campus housing search just got easier for students. The Syracuse University Off-Campus Housing Finder platform has launched, providing students with increased access to safe and affordable off-campus housing options.

This digital platform was designed to ensure that all available properties are listed accurately, registered with the City of Syracuse and compliant with housing ordinances. Listed properties include detailed information on the rental units and available amenities, as well as photos and floor plans. Students can use the detailed search criteria feature to search through properties.

The website utilizes Google Translate and allows users to find roommates, post sublets and access a message board, among other features. The platform includes educational resources for students and their families about living off campus and a feedback mechanism.

Based on student feedback, the University convened a working group to assess and identify an easy-to-use resource to aid in the off-campus housing search. The working group included representatives from the Graduate School, the Graduate Student Organization, the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience, the Office of Real Estate Services and Asset Management, the Office of the General Counsel and the Office of Auxiliary Services.

Off Campus Partners LLC, a company with a proven track record of linking college/university renters and properties, was selected to develop the site and manage the site operations.

All SU students, faculty and staff can access the Off-Campus Housing Finder site using their SU NetID login credentials to create an account and select search preferences.
