Immigration Debate Intensifies After Picture Of Terrified Girl Goes Viral

Seth Gitner, associate professor of newspaper and online journalism in the Newhouse School, was quoted in the CNET article “In the immigration debate, one picture powers thousands of tweets.”

Gitner comments on the image of the two-year-old Honduran girl crying, as she watched her mother get patted down by the U.S. Border Patrol near the U.S.-Mexican border. He states, “Photographs have an amazing way of capturing humanity — good or bad.”
