Syracuse University and the City of Syracuse are reminding members of the campus community about parking regulations in Thornden Park. The regulations, already in place, will be more strictly enforced beginning in July. The reminder of the regulations is designed to ensure parking is available for park visitors, who occasionally can face difficulty finding space, especially during the academic year.
The city will begin leafleting cars starting the third week of July to advise car owners that ticketing will begin Aug. 1. The city hopes that by distributing the informational leaflets in advance, it will minimize the number of ticketing violations it will have to issue once enforcement goes into effect Aug. 1. As added communication, the city will also post additional signage alerting drivers to the restriction against all-day parking in the city park.
Campus community members who use Thornden for all-day parking are urged to make alternative arrangements.
