Tickets are going fast for SU Day at Yankee Stadium on June 16, featuring the New York Yankees hosting the Tampa Bay Rays. Gates open at 11:05 a.m., with the first pitch at 1:05 p.m.

Several ticket options are available, including standard tickets in select 300 and 400 sections. A limited number of picnic tickets remain available in the 100 and 200 sections; the Masterpass Batter’s Eye Deck will host a pregame picnic from 11:05 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., which includes all-you-can-eat hot dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, French fries, salad, draft beer and Pepsi products. These tickets have sold the quickest, with more than 400 expected on the Deck.

For those going to the game from Syracuse, roundtrip bus transportation is available from Manley Field House, with a stop in Binghamton for fans there.

See ticket options and purchase seats, seat/picnic packages and bus seats here.

SU Day commemorative hatAs in past years, there is a special SU Day giveaway. Everyone who purchases a game ticket through the University will receive a special SU-Yankees hat available for pick up at the game.

This is the eighth consecutive SU Day and the fourth with the Yankees (games alternate each year between the Yankees and the Mets). “What started eight years ago as an idea Brian Spector ’78 had for an Orange day at the ballpark has become an annual summer tradition for alumni in the Metro New York area as well as Central New Yorkers who hop the bus to join the fun,” says Patti Dombrowski ’79, executive director of operations and stewardship for Lubin House and one of the original coordinators of SU Day.

For the fourth consecutive season, the game will have an attendance of more than 1,000 Orange alumni, students, faculty, staff and family members. “SU Day is an amazing annual opportunity to engage with so many wonderful SU alumni, family and friends!” says Pam Mulligan ’89, executive director of alumni engagement at Lubin House. “Each year, new elements are introduced to keep it fresh and new.

“We look forward to welcoming many of our alumni families during SU Day,” Mulligan says. “Also, look for the expansion of the SU Day brand to opportunities to attend other major sporting events in New York City, such as the U.S. Open, New York Knicks, New York Jets and others.”
