Can Renewable Energy Forms Fill Fracking Gap?

Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking”, was once seen as the future of New York’s energy systems. But now, it is not a viable option. Now the Empire State is looking to find energy with renewable options – which may not be that easy – says David Popp, an environmental economics expert and professor of public administration and international affairs at the Maxwell School.
“The issue is trying to balance everything,” Popp told the Ithaca Journal. “Most of the demand is downstate, where most of the wind energy is upstate.”
