When Isabella Corieri ’18 thinks about the importance of giving back, she recalls all the experiences that have forged her time at Syracuse.

“I think about every club, class, event and building that I walk into every day,” says Corieri, a member of the Forever Orange Student Alumni Council.

That’s why it’s important to her to be part of Class Act Day—and Forever Orange Week—and leave a legacy for future generations of Orange community members.

Class Act Day on Tuesday, March 27, is an opportunity for the Class of 2018 to make a gift representing their class. Students can make a gift online or look for tables in the Schine Atrium from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in schools and colleges that day.

Once they’ve given, students can add their name to a tag on the tree in the Schine to represent their support.

“By giving back through Class Act, we further enrich the Syracuse University community and continue to spread Orange pride,” Corieri says. “It is much more than a donation, it is a reflection on the last few years of your life that impacted the person you are today.”

With the opportunities made possible through giving, future students can also experience all that Syracuse has to offer.

“My wish is for future students to be more aware of the varieties of groups and experiences that SU has to offer,” Corieri says. “As a transfer student, I immediately found a home through all of the different opportunities presented to me, whether it was through an on-campus club or a program such as SU Abroad.”

Serena Deseta ’18 encourages students to leave a lasting legacy to help future students.

“It is important to give back to the University that has granted its students so many incredible opportunities,” says Deseta, a member of the Forever Orange Student Alumni Council. “By giving back through Class Act, we deepen the Orange community and ensure an excellent experience for both students who come after us and the Orange community at large.”

Deseta wants the next generations of students to enjoy and appreciate all that Syracuse has to offer.

“My wish is that future students can all have even greater access and incredible opportunities than I have had here,” Deseta says.

For those who make of a gift of $20.18, they will receive a special orange, white and silver cord to wear with their cap and gown at Commencement.

Information about Class Act Day and all the events of Forever Orange Week can be found by viewing the online schedule.
