iSchool Assistant Professor Jeff Hemsley Explains Propaganda and Politics

Jeff Hemsley, an assistant professor at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, who specializes in fake news and viral events, talked to the Hudson Reporter about the fake news that swirled around Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla after he was elected in November.

“Propaganda has been around as long as there’s been politics,” he said in the story. “So this whole phenomenon isn’t new. What’s new is that so many more people have a megaphone.”
