English Language Institute Seeking Volunteers to Host Students

Community members host English Language Institute students at a meal in their home.

The English Language Institute (http://eli.syr.edu) is seeking volunteers to invite international students to share a meal in their homes. The students, hosted by University College, are studying at Syracuse University now through fall 2018. The students have 21 hours of English instruction a week as they prepare for full-time study at the University. During the fall and spring semester, most are aspiring undergraduates; during the summer, the majority are graduate students.

These students have few opportunities to interact with Americans, but they have intriguing stories to tell and a lively curiosity about Syracuse and the local culture. Please help make them feel welcome in the community.
