House Passes FISA Extension Amidst Presidential Uncertainty

William Banks, a law professor at Syracuse and the Founding Director of INSCT, recently spoke with Bloomberg about the FISA passage, which was done by the House after uncertain support from President Trump.
“It’s (FISA) been a foundational part of intelligence gathering in the United States since the late 1970’s,” Banks said, “and has been foundational in particular to the portion that’s up for renewal now since 2008.”
