Syracuse University to Close Early Due to Weather and Travel Conditions
As the safety of its students, faculty, staff and visitors remains the University’s chief priority, Syracuse University will close early on Friday, Jan. 5, to allow members of the campus community to get an early start on their evening commutes. With the exception of essential services personnel, supervisors should dismiss their teams, effective immediately.
The decision follows consultation with an independent meteorologist and also comes on the heels of Onondaga County issuing a travel advisory, which is effective through midnight on Saturday, Jan. 6.
The University encourages its community members to travel safely and take proper precautions prior to heading out. To learn more about winter weather preparedness, please click here.
