In a time where flashy graphics and special effects seem to reign king on TV, a lesser thought of aspect is being produced with heavy financial backing: show’s opening soundtracks. Trustee Professor and director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture Robert Thompson spoke about this with BBC, commenting on the new trend.
“TV theme songs are certainly getting more sophisticated,” Thompson said in the interview. “Stating with HBO which has its extraordinarily lush opening theme credits, and now with all the streaming services and everything, there is certainly a sense that the music is more sophisticated.”
