Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser Set for Sept. 29
An Empty Bowls fundraiser to benefit the Interreligious Food Consortium (IFC) will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St., Syracuse. For a $20 donation, patrons may choose from hundreds of handcrafted ceramic bowls and enjoy a meal of soup and bread from local restaurants. The event is open to the public.
Empty Bowls is organized by the Shaped Clay Society in the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ School of Art, Clayscapes Pottery and IFC. The IFC is an umbrella agency for more than 70 food pantries and meal sites throughout Onondaga County. It assists each of these programs with donations of food, money and program support and connects people in need of food assistance with appropriate resources. Learn more at www.ifccny.org.
