Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold will deliver the Newhouse School’s annual Toner Lecture Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium, Newhouse 3. Follow on Twitter at #TonerLecture and #JournalismMatters.

Fahrenthold covers the Trump family and their business interests for the Post. He has been at the paper since 2000, and previously covered Congress, the federal bureaucracy, the environment and the D.C. police.
Fahrenthold was honored by the Newhouse School last spring with the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting. He was recognized particularly for his examination into President Trump’s unfulfilled promises to donate to charities, and misuse of funds meant for charity. Fahrenthold also won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for his work.
The Toner Prize and the Toner Lecture are part of the Newhouse School’s Toner Program in Political Reporting. The program is a tribute to the late Robin Toner ’76, who was the first woman to serve as national political correspondent for The New York Times.
