Tom Downes has been named assistant director of online programs at University College (UC). Downes joins UC from SU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science, where he served as an instructional technologist. Prior to his work in the College of Engineering, Downes served as an online learning analyst with SU’s IT Online Learning Services.
Interim Dean Michael Frasciello says that Downes will support all aspects of the day-to-day operations and development of the new Syracuse University Center for Online and Digital Learning at UC. “Tom brings years of expertise and knowledge to this new position,” says Frasciello. “As University College builds its online program and learning component, Tom’s work will be critical to the success of the unit. We are delighted to have him on our team.”
Downs received his M.S.Ed. from State University of New York at Oswego and a bachelor’s degree from State University New York at Cortland.
