The Newhouse School’s public relations program has been named Outstanding Education Program by PRWeek for the second year in a row.

The designation is part of the 2017 PRWeek US Awards. Winners were announced March 16 at a ceremony in New York City, where department chair Rochelle Ford accepted the award.

Noting the Newhouse program’s past winning designation, one judge said, “They kept up the quality and even added some great new elements.” Another said: “Syracuse’s Newhouse School constitutes one of the most consistently reliable PR training institutions.”

PRWeek noted several of the PR department’s strong points, including the diverse student body, low student-faculty ratio, impressive professional experience of faculty members, innovative curriculum, high-quality internship placements for students and the Newhouse School’s high job placement rate among recent graduates.
