Ruth Colvin
Ruth Colvin is the founder of Literacy Volunteers of America (which merged with Laubach Literacy to form ProLiteracy Worldwide). At the Nov. 3 session of Thursday Morning Roundtable, she will discuss the history of the local organization, Literacy CNY, its success stories and its move to the Near Westside, and the impact it has had on adult learners in our region. She will be joined by board president Karen Tift, who will discuss the future and what the community can do to help.
The campus community is invited to attend Thursday Morning Roundtable on Nov. 3 to celebrate Colvin’s 100th birthday. TMR meets at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo from 8:15-9:15 a.m. The entrance to the zoo is behind Fowler High School on Wilbur Avenue.
