Faculty and Staff Invited to Take Wellness Survey through Oct. 16

Imagine a healthier campus with robust wellness offerings uniquely created for faculty and staff. Tai Chi, weight management and tobacco cessation all are part of a growing effort to provide an accessible network of health and wellness programs and offerings.

From Wednesday, Sept. 28-Sunday, Oct. 16, faculty and staff have an opportunity to voice their opinions about health and wellness options in a new survey that will help the Office of Human Resources assess interest in current wellness and work-life programs. The survey will also identify areas of need as the University seeks to help faculty and staff maximize their well-being. A link to the survey was emailed to faculty and staff on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

“As one of the leading employers in the Central New York region, our wellness programs are an important part of our comprehensive benefits package,” says Gail Grozalis, executive director of wellness initiatives. “But we are focused on the future and making our programming even more comprehensive to meet the needs of our faculty and staff.”

The results, along with those from a 2013 wellness survey, will continue to help build programs and identify resources to better support faculty and staff health and work-life needs.

At the conclusion of the survey, respondents will have the opportunity to be directed to a separate website to enter a drawing for one of several survey prizes, including:

  • introductory personal training program provided by the Department of Recreation Services; and
  • two wellness gift baskets donated by Healthy Monday Syracuse and the University Wellness Initiative.

The survey is administered by the Syracuse University Office of Institutional Research on behalf of the Office of Human Resources and results will be shared with the campus community in November.
