Syracuse University and the City of Syracuse announced that the parking lot at the corner of Marshall Street and South Crouse Avenue will be closed to the public beginning on Monday, Aug. 29. This will facilitate demolition work being done at the Hoople Building, in preparation for construction of the new National Veterans Resource Complex.
The lot is owned by the University and leased to the City of Syracuse to facilitate public parking with convenient access to the shops and restaurants along Marshall Street. This lot will temporarily be used for heavy equipment as part of the demolition. Work is expected to be completed by January 2017.
Drivers seeking access to the businesses in the area are encouraged to use the paid lot located between First Niagara Bank and University College along East Adams Street. Metered street parking in the area will continue to be available.
