The Onondaga Citizens League (OCL) will begin its latest community study–“How CNY Works”–with three identical “scoping” (or design) sessions the week of August 22-26. The sessions are free and open to the public. The sessions will be held as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 23, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at CNY Works (Onondaga Room), 960 James St. Parking: Use lot at rear of building. Enter building thru lower level entrance off parking lot.
Wednesday, Aug. 24, 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Le Moyne College (Mitchell Hall, room 113) Parking: Observe campus parking regulations.
Friday, Aug. 26, 8:30 – 10 a.m. at WCNY (Educational Center), 415 W. Fayette St. Parking: Use free lot near the corner of Wyoming and Marcellus Streets, across from WCNY. Enter WCNY lobby through the courtyard entrance facing the parking area.
This new study will build on OCL’s prior studies by exploring how CNY’s economy and employment patterns have changed over the years; how they continue to change today; what drives these changes; and what is needed to make CNY’s economy thrive and benefit all who call CNY home.
The public is encouraged to attend a scoping (or design) session which are intended to give shape and direction to the study topic and process in order to ensure that the study is as relevant, thorough and as useful as possible.
OCL’s community studies are unique in that they focus on issues of interest and importance to the CNY region and they provide a forum for local citizens and recognized leaders to work side by side in carrying out the study and producing its outcomes.
The study sessions themselves will begin in September at times and locations to be announced.
