We hope you are enjoying a great Commencement Weekend and the exciting and wonderful events taking place across our campus.
The weather forecast for today indicates the possibility of thunderstorms and some significant winds this afternoon between approximately 1-6 p.m today. After consultation with the University’s independent weather consultant, we have decided to relocate some outdoor Convocation receptions to space inside University buildings.
Again, this only affects receptions. All Convocation ceremonies will occur at their planned locations. The following four receptions are being relocated:
• S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications Receptions at 2 p.m.: Moving from tents on the Quad to the Newhouse Complex.
• School of Education Reception at 2:15 p.m.: Moving from tents outside Manley Field House to inside Manley.
• David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics Reception at 6:15 p.m.: Moving from tents outside Manley Field House to inside Manley.
• College of Visual and Performing Arts Reception at 8:30 p.m.: Moving from tents on the Quad to inside the Carrier Dome.
These changes will be announced several times during each related ceremony and staff will direct you to the new location. All other Convocation receptions will occur at their scheduled location.
Importantly, if you encounter severe weather, please seek shelter indoors immediately. Campus buildings located near all convocation sites will be open for you to seek shelter.
