Career Services Hosts ’Cuse Career Week Beginning Sept. 23

Career Services’ annual ’Cuse Career Week kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 23, with the Local Internship Fair and continues throughout the week with multiple career fairs, information sessions and networking opportunities across campus. The week offers students the opportunity to network with employers, improve their job-hunting skills and explore opportunities for internships, full-time employment and post-graduate education.

Local Internship Fair—Wednesday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Panasci Lounge, Schine:
The Local Internship Fair provides students with the opportunity to connect and build relationships with local organizations and businesses that are looking for interns in the Central New York area. More than 60 companies will be attending the event.

Career Week Resume Drop-Ins—Friday, Sept. 25, and Monday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., 235 Schine:
Career Services is hosting extra drop-ins to provide students with the chance to have their resumes critiqued during one-on-one meetings with career counselors before Career Week. Resume reviews will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. All students are encouraged to attend.

Career & Grad School Fair @ the Dome—Tuesday, Sept. 29, 12:30-4:30 p.m., enter through Gate A: Representatives from more than 100 employers will pack the Carrier Dome, offering students the opportunity to learn about a variety of internships and full-time job opportunities. Additionally, more than 100 graduate schools will be attending to provide students with more information on post-graduate education. This year’s employer sponsors are: General Electric, Macy’s/Bloomingdale’s, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Norfolk Southern Corp., New York Army National Guard, IBM, EY (Ernst & Young) and JPMorgan Chase.

Diversity in the Workplace—Tuesday, Sept. 29, 6-7:30 p.m., Club 4.4., Carrier Dome, enter Gate A:
A collaboration between the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Career Services, Diversity in the Workplace brings together students from historically underrepresented groups to showcase their organizations to employers during a “reverse career fair.” All students are invited to network with the employers during the event as well.

Law School Information Fair—Thursday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Panasci Lounge, Schine:
Students considering or interested in attending law school are encouraged to attend the information fair to speak with program representatives from more than 60 law schools.

“All students, no matter their class year or major, are encouraged to attend ’Cuse Career Week events,” says Susan Call, associate director of employer relations. “This week is a great opportunity for students to explore and learn more about opportunities in their field or industry of interest, while also building connections with employers, alumni and representatives.”

Career Services will also host “Prepare for Career Week” workshops throughout this week to help students learn how the career fair works, what to wear, what to bring, how to approach potential employers and how to navigate the fair.
