Syracuse University has invited the final candidate for the position of director (ADA/503/504 coordinator) Starr Wheeler, to interview on campus. Interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend an open forum where the candidate will be presenting briefly on her vision to promote inclusion for students, faculty and staff with disabilities. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the search committee. The open forum will be held:

Wheeler provided a brief bio which will be available at each forum:
Wheeler has worked at SUNY Oswego for 14 years. She says, “My office coordinates the provision of in-class accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Additionally, as the ADA/504 Compliance Officer I work with departments and committees across all of the colleges divisions to maintain compliance and accessibility. I continue to be a resource for staff, faculty, and students here at SUNY Oswego in the area of disability and ADA compliance.”
She has held several positions within the state and county, including the chairman of Oswego County Family Support Services Council, Community Board—MRDD subcommittee, and took part in the planning of the New York State Cares II Forum and presentation, served on the New York State Disability Services Council board of directors, and held the position of Regional Representative to the Statewide Advisory Committee on Family Support Services.
