Talent Agency is a community-based pre-college and college readiness program located on the Near Westside of Syracuse. In partnership with the College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), the teen participants, who are from the City of Syracuse, are taught and mentored by Syracuse University graduate and undergraduate students. The program gives youth with talent and passion for art a chance to compete for scholarships and acceptance to the best programs for their interests and needs.

The works in “Launched” will include drawings, sculptures, paintings, illustrations, photos and digital art works from the portfolios of student artists who will be college bound this fall. The work on display has won these gifted students large scholarships to many excellent programs.

Funding for Talent Agency has been provided by Syracuse University’s Office of the Chancellor, VPA, the Near Westside Initiative, CNY Works, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts and the Gifford Foundation. For more information, visit http://www.talentagency-syr.org or contact Dorene Quinn at 315-749-3741 or talentagency.syr@gmail.com.

914Works is an intimate space for VPA students and faculty to present individual or group exhibitions, readings and small-scale performances. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Third Thursdays (Th3) of each month. For more information, contact 914works@syr.edu.
