Carolyn T. Chang, a Ph.D. student in environmental and forest biology, and Laura Bartock, a master’s student in environmental communication and participatory processes, will meet Saturday, March 21, to decide the winner of the 2nd annual Syracuse University/SUNY ESF 3-Minute Thesis competition. Each prevailed in her respective initial bracket of the competition on Feb. 26 and March 5.
3-Minute Thesis is a research communication competition founded by the University of Queensland in Australia and increasingly popular at North American universities. Contestants have 180 seconds to describe the nature, importance and inherent interest of their research, with only a single static image (e.g., PPT slide) projected. The Chang-Bartock showdown will take place at 4:30 pm in 105 Life Sciences Building, capping off the All-University Graduate Research Symposium.
