Phi Beta Sigma Brings Recording Artist August Alsina to Goldstein
The Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. will host its “State of Emergency: Culture for Service” Benefit Concert featuring recording artist August Alsina on Sunday, March 22. Doors at Goldstein Auditorium at Schine Student Center open at 3 p.m., with the show starting at 3:30.
Tthe majority of the proceeds will go to GREEK 4 Life, an organization that fights against gun violence and incarceration of youth in the greater Syracuse area.
New Orleans native August Alsina climbed the charts with his debut album “Testimony,” released in April 2014. Alsina’s most recent projects include the popular ballad with Nicki Minaj titled “No Love” and a collaboration alongside Chris Brown, Future and Jeremih on DJ Khaled’s “Hold You Down” single. His latest tour for his album sold out internationally and has co-headlined the UR Experience Tour (2014) with Grammy Award winner Usher. Special guest Bishop Nehru, one of the first rappers signed to Nas’ Mass Appeal Records, will open for Alsina. Appearances by Syracuse University alumnus Kenny Blacc and new artist Lovel will be opening up the show.
