University Monitoring Winter Weather Conditions; No Change In Operating Status

The University is monitoring the current winter weather and road conditions in Syracuse and the surrounding region. This effort includes assessing recent National Weather Service data and forecasting, and consulting with an independent meteorologist. Based on current conditions, the University expects to remain fully open and operational on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.

Students, faculty and staff traveling to and from campus may encounter conditions that necessitate a personal safety decision in regards to their travel to the University. If this occurs, students and faculty should work with each other to make alternate arrangements. Any staff member who needs to adjust his or her work schedule due to an individual situation should discuss the matter with his/her supervisor. Community members who encounter a sidewalk, roadway or curb cut on campus that has not been cleared of snow or ice are encouraged to contact Physical Plant at 315-443-4984.

The University will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions. If a change in the University’s status becomes necessary, it will be announced via SU Weather Alert, on Twitter @SUCampus, through campus email, on news.syr.edu and through local media.
