Syracuse University’s Department of Marriage and Family Therapy in the Falk College is hosting a community forum on Monday, Nov. 10, to talk about, listen and reflect on ways to welcome, serve and support returning veterans. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7-9 p.m. at Peck Hall, Room 111, 601 E. Genesee St. Free parking is available in the building’s front lot.
Organizers and member agencies will use the information shared at the forum to plan future events to benefit veterans, including training, workshops and resource fairs, among others. The event is sponsored by the Onondaga County Trauma Task Force, with member agencies including Access CNY, Healing the Heart Recovery Project (TLS/Enable), Clean Slate Diaries, Clear Path for Veterans, Contact Community Services, CNY Practitioners, Hillside Children’s Center, Huntington Family Center, members of the Onondaga Nation, McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center, Onondaga County Department of Adult and Long-Term Care, Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services, Syracuse University Department of Marriage and Family Therapy and Vera House.
