On Wednesday, Oct. 15, the Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., hosts the fourth annual Women of Distinction event in Goldstein Auditorium at 7:14 p.m. This year’s panelists include reality and television star Alani “LaLa” Anthony, Primetime Emmy Award winner Loretta Devine and inspirational speaker and television star Iyanla Vanzant. The event is open to all students, staff, faculty and the public.

WODOWomen of Distinction is an empowerment session geared toward inspiring women and men of color in the Syracuse community. In addition to the panel discussion with Anthony, Devine and Vanzant, a special segment of the event will honor one Syracuse University student and one Syracuse community leader with the Women of Distinction Award that acknowledges their efforts to build and empower themselves and their community.

“It is important to not only allow the community to hear from prominent women, but to also celebrate others in the community for their work in uplifting and motivating the youth of Syracuse,” says Travis Davis, president of the Theta Xi Chapter. “We hope you will join us in celebrating the lives and achievements of the women who impact the masses.”

Tickets are available at the Schine Box Office for $1.

For more information, contact Davis at tadavi05@syr.edu. More information about Women of Distinction and the Theta Xi Chapter can be found on their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
