Participants Needed for a Study Examining the Effects of Whey Protein on Artery and Brain Health
The Exercise Science Department at Syracuse University is recruiting participants for a research study examining the effect of whey protein (milk protein) on artery and brain health.
You are eligible if you are 60-85 years old and do not smoke or have diabetes or kidney disease, and have had no recent head injury, heart attack or stroke (in the past 6 months).
What do you have to do?
• One initial visit (1 hour) to determine eligibility and receive (optional) body fat testing
• A second visit (2 hours) for assessments of artery and cognitive function
• You will be given either whey protein or carbohydrate drink to consume twice each day for 12 weeks
• After 6 and 12 weeks we will ask you to return to the laboratory for repeat testing (2 hours each visit)
You may receive up to $100 compensation for completing the full study
All research will take place on the main campus of Syracuse University (on site, no cost parking available)
