The 2014-2015 Humphrey Fellows

The Executive Education Program at the Maxwell School has welcomed 10 2014-2015 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows, who are embarking on a year of academic study, professional development, and cultural exchange at Maxwell.

The fellowship is sponsored and funded by the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education. The fellows, who will spend 10 months in Syracuse pursuing non-degree academic studies and engaging in professionally enriching experiences, were selected based on their commitment to public service and their potential for leadership in both the public and NGO sectors.

This is the sixth year that Maxwell has hosted fellows, and this year’s crop hails from 10 different countries, including Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Myanmar, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Slovak Republic, South Korea and Uzbekistan.

“Executive Education is pleased to once again welcome Humphrey Fellows to the Maxwell School. Their dedication, perspective and experience are top-notch, making their contributions to the school and University incredibly impressive,” states Margaret Lane, Syracuse Humphrey Fellowship program director and assistant director of executive education. “Previous Humphrey Fellows have gone home and produced transformative changes in their countries and organizations following their experiences in the Syracuse Humphrey program. We look forward to the academic, professional and cultural exchange opportunities these new fellows will provide throughout the year.”

The 2014-2015 Humphrey Fellowship Program consists of 171 fellows from 98 countries hosted by 16 U.S. universities. Since 1978, more than 4,600 fellows from 157 countries have participated in the program.
