DPS Training Set for July 11
On Friday, July 11, the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety (DPS) will hold a training exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 311 Chinook Ave. on South Campus. Officers will be taking part in training and responding as if an actual emergency incident was taking place. DPS vehicles will be utilized, with lights and sirens activated. Additionally, officers will be using simulated training pellet firearms that produce a popping sound.
DPS regularly conducts training exercises to prepare for responding to incidents on or around campus.
