The Falk College, in conjunction with two of its student organizations, Kappa Omicron Nu (the honor society of child and family studies) and the Society of Public Health Education (SOPHE), has the following activities planned to raise awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. All this week, the group will be collecting donations of $1 for paper pinwheels and $1 for blue wristbands. All money that is collected will be donated to the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Site.
Students, faculty and staff can go to Falk College Office of Student Services (340 Sims Hall) the Falk College Dean’s Office (119 Euclid Avenue), or any of the Falk College academic departments to purchase a pinwheel or wristband. The students from KON and SOPHE will also be tabling in Ernie Davis on Thursday, April 10 from 4:30 pm-9 pm and also Friday, April 11 from 11 am-3 pm. They will have the pinwheels and wristbands available for purchase. On Sunday, April 13, the group will plant the pinwheel garden in between the Schine Student Center and Newhouse.
