Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud released the following statement this morning:
“The Syracuse University community is saddened to learn that our alumnus, Major Patrick Miller, was injured in yesterday’s shooting at the Army base in Fort Hood, Texas. Our thoughts are with Major Miller and his family, and with all of those affected by this terrible incident.
“A native of Western New York, Major Miller attended SU as part of the Defense Comptrollership Program, a unique graduate education program designed to meet the Army’s comptrollership needs. He graduated with master of business administration and master of public administration degrees in 2009.
“We will keep Major Miller in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead and hope for his full and speedy recovery.”
