Hollywood Produces, Michael and Carla Shamberg are giving a talk on March 25 at 2 p.m. in Shemin Auditorium, Shaffer Art Building.
Carla’s producing credits include “Feeling Minnesota” starring Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz; “Extraordinary Measures” starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser; and “Erin Brockovich,” which she produced with Michael Shamberg and which was nominated for five Academy Awards and won for Best Actress, Julia Roberts. Michael is the founder of Double Feature Films with two films opening this year: “Wish I Was Here,” directed by and starring Zach Braff, along with Kate Hudson, Mandy Patinkin and Josh Ga; and “A Walk Among the Tombstones,” starring Liam Neeson, which was written and directed by Scott Frank. His past Oscar-nominated films include “Django Unchained,” “Pulp Fiction” and “The Big Chill.” Shamberg has also produced a number of films based on true stories, including “World Trade Center,” “Freedom Writers,” “Extraordinary Measures” and “Man on the Moon.” Michael also used to work as a Time-Life correspondent, and and wrote the 1971 non-fiction book “Guerrilla Television,” which chronicled his early days with TVTV.
