Join Chancellor Syverud for a Morning Run on Inauguration Day
The distance of the run, 1.2 miles, celebrates Chancellor Syverud’s appointment as SU’s 12th chancellor. The course will start at the Orange Grove on the SU Quad and will wind its way through Main Campus, continuing on the Connective Corridor and ending at the Schine Student Center.
The event is a first in the history of Syracuse chancellor inaugurations, says Joe Lore, director of SU’s Recreation Services. “Chancellor Syverud wanted to start his inauguration day with students,” Lore says.
Healthy snacks and beverages will be available at the end of the course.
The run is free; the first 200 participants to sign up will receive a commemorative T-shirt. To register, visit the Recreation Services website. Registrations will be available the day of the event, but participants are encouraged to register in advance.
