Counseling Center Offers Free Stress Reduction Class for Students
The Syracuse University Counseling Center is offering a free course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction(MBSR) to SU and SUNY-ESF students. The eight-week course meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 5. The program introduces participants to mindfulness meditation practices and their application to everyday life. More specifically, the course is designed to teach students how to access inner resources that improve their ability to cope effectively with the stresses of school, work and personal life.
Further information and registration for the program will be offered at the mandatory orientation/screening session on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 6-7 p.m. at the SU Counseling Center, 200 Walnut Place. At that session students will be able to meet the instructor, learn more about the program, complete a brief screening and register for the class.
To sign up for the orientation session or for further information, contact the Counseling Center at 443-4715, email@example.com. Class size is limited.
