Test of Orange Alert Siren Slated for Saturday
On Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. there will be a two-minute campus-wide test of the Orange Alert siren and message board components.
The purpose of the test is to check the energy recharge ability of the outdoor siren system components. Because of this, the siren will briefly sound again at 3 p.m.
Since it is impossible to know who will be within hearing range of the sirens, all students, faculty and staff will receive an email reminder that it is only a test. The subject line of the test e-mail will read “ORANGE ALERT SIREN SYSTEM TEST.” There will be no phone calls or text messages in this test of the system.
