Bonnie Dunay
Bonnie Dunay, a manager in Information Technology and Services, is fighting an aggressive brain tumor that has resulted in six brain surgeries, two life-threatening infections, prolonged radiation and chemotherapy and other intensive medical treatments.
Friends and colleagues hope to raise money to assist the Dunay family with mounting medical costs by hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Bridgeport VFW Post 8440, 516 State Route 31 in Bridgeport. The benefit will take place from 1-5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for teens and children.
Dunay, a 28-year employee of SU and mother of two, was diagnosed with cancer in 2005. “Bonnie is one of the strongest people I have ever met,” says Jenn Bick, Dunay’s friend. “With the support of many people, she has fought this tumor and every challenge it has thrown at her with tremendous courage. Please support this amazing woman and her wonderful family.”
Those who cannot attend can help the Dunays by contributing an item to raffle at the event or through personal donations. An M&T Bank account has been established for donations. To donate, please send checks made out to “Team Bonnie Dunay” to Karen Barnes, 112 Williams St., N. Syracuse, N.Y. 13212.
